Invested good many months in Amsterdam learning skills on flight operations, flight planning , flight plans, meteo, notams, weight and balance et al.

An important focus was paid by the instructors , in not only asking for correct answers , but seeking inputs to the questions answer by asking the referral "Page & sub sections" .

SOP manuals thus became not only a Bible of aviation's systems & procedures , but keeping updates recurrent by quoting " Page" became a method of updated knowledge.

All crew briefing matters, subjects , policies were substantiated by referring to the current " Page" thus a sub-section of practice in use.

The scientific way of updating the SOP manuals and every users acknowledgment ensuring updates in knowledge and being read thus became a habit for all operational personals in KLM.

SOP-s are heart and soul of any operational process, more so with Aviation , were the objective first is " safety first " . Practicing SOP's thus is religion & culture of Aviation personal.

With IT interfaces , laptops, palm-tops and i-pads. Sharing and handling of SOP manuals & practices have become more user friendly. i sincerely hope , we continue to maintain the importance to his subject as highlighted by Capt Srinivas Rao in his blog today.

I thank my previous employers for inculcating these habits .
BHASKAR PANThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01279662535071719874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3073796774057701124.post-16653321695621864752013-07-16T11:36:29.031+05:302013-07-16T11:36:29.031+05:30That's sounds great that Aircraft is now cover...That's sounds great that Aircraft is now covered by the Composite Material. I was driving in the pouring down rain on the freeway one night. Cars were speeding, one tailgating. Exit coming up. Is that my exit? Is the guy too close behind me? With the rainstorm, is there excess water on the freeway that will cause hydroplaning if I attempt to slow and exit? Now the fascinating thing is, I was just talking about this ability in the plane... to perceive, process and perform.

Sometimes everything happens at once and we need our micro chips to kick into gear and take in all the facts in a nano second in this three process you describe so we can perform properly, instead of reacting.

This is the reason we don't drink and fly. And the same reason we should be rested before we depart. And the reason, there should be a reasonable retirement age. With all three of the previous, response times slow down in each phase of the 3 P model.

Excellent post.Karlene Petitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17910702587514001827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3073796774057701124.post-25548035402703627362012-05-16T16:27:33.744+05:302012-05-16T16:27:33.744+05:30Most WelcomeMost WelcomeSrinivas Raohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01490470610494651753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3073796774057701124.post-9580940297196512072012-05-08T20:39:36.965+05:302012-05-08T20:39:36.965+05:30Glad the post was of help...Glad the post was of help...Srinivas Raohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01490470610494651753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3073796774057701124.post-30826288537002287132012-05-08T16:00:25.702+05:302012-05-08T16:00:25.702+05:30air force fighters

Many still feel that an immediate thrust application is the answer. While it may work at extremely low altitudes, the primary aim during recovery should be to unload the angle of attack and then add the required thrust to augnment the enrgy. There is a confusion between attitiude and angle of attack, which I shall address in detail in a later post.G R Mohanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14347057188687925894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3073796774057701124.post-69989185089119970572012-05-06T12:09:35.863+05:302012-05-06T12:09:35.863+05:30Now you know why the pilots are bonkers.
